With Aussies Ellie Carpenter, Sarah Hunter and coach Joe Montemurro competing in the Première Ligue, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how their teams are faring.

Olympique Lyonnais 6-0 RC Strasbourg
Strasbourg nearly surprised OL (14′) but Lyon quickly took the lead thanks to Daniëlle van de Donk’s ambush at the far post (1-0, 17′). Our Aussie Ellie Carpenter made her first assist of the season for Lindsey Horan (2-0, 38’), and Kadidiatou Diani scored just before half-time (3-0, 45′). Tabitha Chawinga scored her first league goal with Lyon in the most beautiful way (4-0, 52′), then Melchie Dumornay showed her speed to score a fifth goal (5-0, 58′). Ellie Carpenter could have scored in the 55th minute but the opposing goalkeeper stood firm. Horan scored her second brace this season with a direct free kick (6-0, 90+3′).
In a postgame interview, Joe Montemurro said: “We played in front of our supporters, I think they enjoyed the match. We score goals with different players, it’s an indication of what we’re trying to achieve. It’s important to continue like this with everyone participating, attacking and defending. We did it well today. We had a few situations where the team defended very well collectively. We always try to have the right balance between attack and defence.”

FC Nantes 0-1 AS Saint-Etienne
Nantes was caught cold after 87 seconds by a lob from Cindy Caputo (0-1, 2′). Both teams struggled to create chances and there was no more scoring. The two goalkeepers, Maryne Gignoux (Saint-Etienne) and Emily Burns (FC Nantes), performed well.

Dijon FCO 2-2 FC Fleury
Dijon came back from a two goal deficit to secure a draw. Fleury quickly opened the scoring thanks to Falome Meffometou, assisted by Charlotte Fernandes (0-1, 4′). Dijon reacted well but Fleury still doubled their advantage with Sarah Kassi, on a ball deflected by the defence (0-2, 58′). The entry of Viktoria Pinther allowed Dijon to earn a point. First she scored with a header (1-2, 76′), then she finished a counter attack (2-2, 88′) for the equaliser.

Montpellier HSC 1-0 Stade de Reims
MHSC earned their first victory of the season thanks to a goal from Judith Coquet (1-0, 3′), her first one in the Arkema Premier League.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 EA Guingamp
Using a 4-3-3 system, PSG had to wait until the second half to get the better of Guingamp. Well found by Sakina Karchaoui, Marie-Antoinette Katoto saw her shot pushed back before Romée Leuchter, as a fox in the box, managed to score (1-0, 51′). The Dutch rookie scored again from a direct free kick (2-0, 61′). Three minutes later, Sakina Karchaoui scored with a powerful strike (64′), and Malian Agueissa Diarra scored her first goal for PSG with a volley (4-0, 87′).

Paris FC 8-0 Le Havre AC
This is Paris FC’s largest winning margin in the league since October 2016, when the club was known as FCF Juvisy. Le Havre experienced the heaviest defeat in its history, surpassing the record 0-7 defeat against Olympique Lyonnais in April 2023. Our Aussie Sarah Hunter played this historic match as a starter, before being replaced at 65′.
The Parisians began their offensive festival with a cross shot from Julie Dufour (1-0, 18′). Dufour turned provider for Clara Matéo, the current top scorer in the championship (26’, 45’, 45+2’). Maëlle Garbino also scored twice (32′, 45+4′), allowing the team to lead 6-0 at halftime. Clara Matéo secured the very first quadruple of her career on a pass from Gaëtane Thiney (7-0, 62′), while Julie Dufour scored her second on a superb pass from Clara Matéo (8-0, 67′).
