We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!

Kristianstads DFF continued their winning ways in Round 21 of the Damallsvenskan with a 2-0 home win over IF Brommapojkarna. Clare Polkinghorne scored for the second week running, in the same week as announcing her retirement from international football at the end of 2024.

Polkinghorne played the full match, while Remy Siemsen took the field for the opening 66 minutes.

IFK Norrköping fought out a 1-1 home draw against Vittsjö, in a game where Vesna Milivojević was unavailable for the hosts (listed in the ‘absent, sick, or injured’ group). They also won away in a midweek third-round Swedish Cup clash against lower-tier Eskilstuna United, and have qualified for next year’s group stage.

BK Häcken returned to league action this week with a comfortable home 4-0 victory over Växjö DFF. Aivi Luik has returned to the squad following suspension from a painkilling injection two years ago, despite not failing a doping test. Here’s hoping some time on the park isn’t far away for Luik.

There were Aussies on both sides as AIK hosted Linköping FC. Jada Whyman returned to AIK’s lineup and kept a valuable clean sheet in a 1-0 win, a result that takes AIK closer to escaping the automatic relegation zone. The Solna-based side are still in the bottom two but are now level on points with 12th-placed Örebro.

As fate would have it, AIK’s next outing is away to Örebro – this game could go a long way to deciding who is automatically relegated, and who is sent into the promotion/relegation playoff.

For Linköping, Polly Doran and Angie Beard both started, and they were both subbed on 76 minutes.
