We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!
In Damallsvenskan Round 23, Remy Siemsen scored two goals within three minutes, early in the second half of Kristianstads DFF‘s home fixture against Växjö DFF, taking her team to a 3-0 lead. The final 40 minutes were nervous ones for the home side, with a Kristianstads red card and three goals by the visitors leaving us with a 3-3 draw.
These were Siemsen’s first goals in nine appearances for the team wearing red. Siemsen was substituted in the 86th minute, while Clare Polkinghorne saw out the full match.

IFK Norrköping hosted the undefeated FC Rosengård, with the visitors taking their sole chance of the game and extending their 100% winning record to a remarkable 23 league matches. The home side set up with five at the back, and their gritty display led to a halftime scoreline of 0-0 before the visitors scored in the 53rd minute.
The game marked Vesna Milivojević‘s return to action for Norrköping after several weeks.

Second-from-bottom AIK did well to hold sixth-placed Djurgårdens IF to a 1-1 draw at home – every point counts for teams in the automatic relegation positions. Jada Whyman played a full game for the home side.

BK Häcken hosted their Pink Match in support of the Breast Cancer Association, and they would have been tickled pink after an 8-1 win over Linköping FC.
For Linköping, Polly Doran entered play in the 72nd minute, while Angie Beard came off the bench in the 83rd minute.
Aivi Luik was not on the Häcken team sheet for either the Pink Match or their 9-0 away win over second tier Jitex in the Svenska Cupen.

Remember folks, you can’t spell Winonah without “Win”. FC Nordsjælland won their eighth game in the opening nine rounds of the Kvindeliga, defeating Kolding 1-0 with a 94th minute winner from Winonah Heatley. Both Heatley and Malia Steinmetz played full games, with Steinmetz picking up a booking during the second half. Kolding’s Ava Collins came off the bench to play the final 20 minutes plus stoppages.
Nordsjælland then backed up in midweek and secured safe passage to the Danish Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 home win over B 93. Heatley and Steinmetz retained their places in the starting lineup for the Cup game.
Meanwhile, Ally Green made her first appearance of the season, coming off the bench for the final half hour of AGF’s home game against B 93. Unfortunately, AGF lost 1-0 to remain bottom of the league, with Kolding occupying the other promotion / relegation playoff spot.
