Aussies are playing in three Nordic leagues in 2025, and Beyond 90 will be there to follow their progress each week!

Six Aussies are on the Swedish Damallsvenskan books for the 2025 competition, which kicked off this week.

Angie Beard completed a transfer from Linköping to AIK over the break after two seasons, joining Jada Whyman, who played a significant role for AIK at the back end of the 2024 campaign. Beard entered AIK’s 2-0 home win over her old club – where Polly Doran remains after her first season – in the 92nd minute. Doran took the field as an 86th-minute Linköping substitute, while Whyman was not listed for AIK.

Vesna Milivojević has embarked on her second season with Norrköping with a full 90 minutes of their home 1-1 draw against Vittsjö GIK. Norrköping was perhaps unlucky not to claim all three points after missing a penalty near the hour mark, as discussed by Milivojević after the game (translation recommended).

Now in her second season with Kristianstads, Remy Siemsen started in their 2-1 away loss to Djurgårdens IF and played the first 61 minutes. The visitors’ first-half goal was matched and then overhauled by the home side in the game’s final six minutes.

Amy Sayer is still on the road to ACL recovery for Kristianstads, while Clare Polkinghorne has taken up an assistant coaching role at FC Rosengård in the Division 1 South competition. Polkinghorne played three seasons with Vittsjö before a final season with Kristianstads in 2024.

The Kvindeliga‘s second phase commenced last week. The top six teams from the first phase of the Kvindeliga (which took part in the second half of 2024) will play a double round-robin series to determine the league title and Champions League qualification.

Winonah Heatley‘s Nordsjælland kicked off this phase with a 2-1 away win over Odense, and followed up this week with a 2-1 home loss against AGF Aarhus. Heatley played every minute of both games but picked up a yellow card in the 85th minute against AGF. Teammate Malia Steinmetz isn’t available for selection due to an ACL injury sustained in  December.

There are no Aussies currently listed as playing in the Icelandic competition. If that changes, we’ll be following their progress.
