With up to three Aussies and Matildas competing in the D1 FĂ©minine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.

EA Guingamp continued its ascension in the D1 Arkema after winning 2-0 against GPSO 92 Issy. The team now has the fourth best defence in the French championship (behind OL, PSG, and Bordeaux). Laura Brock played the entire game.

Mary Fowler was probably the player of the match as she played a decisive pass and scored in Montpellier’s 4-1 win at Le Havre. Currently in good form, the Aussie has four goals in the championship. She declared in an interview:

“I wouldn’t say I’ve changed the way I play but I think I’m gradually becoming the player I am, once I’ve adapted to this new context.”

PSG v OL – the clash that didn’t happen. Paris Saint-Germain announced that three players and a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus. The regulations state a minimum of four unavailable players before a game is postponed, so this game should have been played.

However, in response PSG would have called the health authorities and quarantined the whole team for a week. The French regulation says that “the document identifies the main principles of health precautions but does not replace all the necessary government regulations. Federal bodies cannot be substituted by defining health rules that are not under its jurisdiction.”
