With two Aussies and Matildas competing in the D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.
Both Mary Fowler and Ellie Carpenter won tough games with Montpellier HSC and Olympique Lyonnais respectively.
Fowler was started in Montpellier’s away game against Soyaux and assisted Dominika Skorvankova for the only goal of the game on 20 minutes. The Aussie was subbed off in the 71st minute.
Carpenter played the entire game in Lyon’s 2-1 away win at Paris FC. Lyon took control with two goals in a minute – Carpenter set up Delphine Cascarino (38′) and then Player of the Match Selma Bacha created a goal for Ada Hegerberg (39′), before Paris’s Théa Greboval reduced the deficit (45′). Paris FC played with 10 against 11 after Sophie Vaysse‘s second yellow card (64’) but the score didn’t change.
Three games ended with a 1-0 scoreline. Paris Saint-Germain got the better of Girondins de Bordeaux thanks to Sakina Karchaoui (69′), after good play with Sara Däbritz and Sandy Baltimore. Bordeaux’s nightmare continues and they haven’t won a game for a month (two losses and a draw since November 20th). Fleury 91’s Polish duo made the difference against FF Issy with Nikola Karczewska netting the only goal of the game on 71 minutes, set up by Dominika Grabowska. Meanwhile, Stade de Reims won 1-0 at AS Saint-Etienne thanks to Rachel Corboz‘s spot kick (15’).
Finally, Dijon FCO and EA Guingamp ended in a 1-1 draw. Rose Lavaud won an aerial duel, allowing Desire Oparanozie to score for Dijon (19′), then Héloïse Mansuy responded with a volley on 52 minutes to ensure the points were shared.
