With two Aussies and Matildas competing in the D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.
Olympique Lyonnais won 3-0 at Dijon in the opening game of the round. Lyon dominated the whole game and created chances before Catarina Macario scored a brace at 9′ and 35′. Ellie Carpenter set up one of those goals with a great long pass to switch the play – her sixth assist of the season.
This game also saw Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir return from maternity leave, one year after her last game. Melvine Malard scored Lyon’s third goal, assisted by Delphine Cascarino (62′). Malard and Macario are now 2nd and 3rd in the top scorer race with 12 and 11 goals.

Paris Saint-Germain won 2-0 over ASJ Soyaux with a “back-up” team – the club will play in the UEFA Women’s Champion’s League this week. Sakina Karchaoui, who came in at 7′ after Jade Le Guilly‘s injury, scored six minutes later. PSG then had multiple chances until Aminata Diallo doubled their lead with a header on 84 minutes.
Montpellier HSC scored six goals against EA Guingamp without reply in Maëlle Lakrar‘s 50th D1 Arkema game with the club. The last time MHSC won a D1 Arkema game by six goals or more was in February 2020 (7-1 at Stade de Reims).
La Paillade began their offensive festival with goals from Faustine Robert (3′) and Nérila Mondésir (10′). Lena Petermann made it three with a banger (31′) before Mondésir scored her second goal on 41 minutes after a counter-attack. In the second half, Robert finished a great team move to make it five (60′). Mary Fowler entered the play on 66 minutes and was there to celebrate Esther Mbakem Niaro‘s goal in the 88th minute.

Paris FC survived a scare to win 2-1 at Stade de Reims. Reims’ Kethna Louis scored an acrobatic volley in the 62nd minute before Mathilde Bourdieu equalized for PFC five minutes later. In a crazy finish, the Parisians scored the winning goal thanks to Ouleymata Sarr, assisted by Gaëtane Thiney‘s corner kick. However, the three points are not secured for PFC – Reims have lodged an official protest because that corner kick wasn’t taken from the correct spot. According to the Laws of the Game, Law 17 says that “the ball should be positioned in the corner area closest to where the ball crossed the goal line.” Both teams are waiting for a decision.
GPSO Issy earned three points against AS Saint-Etienne. ASSE opened the score with Esther Okoronkwo, but then Issy struck four times to end ASSE’s hopes of winning. Julie Rabanne opened the scoring with a great shot before the Haitian duo of Roselord Borgella (46′, 75′) and Batcheba Louis (77′) put the game out of Saint-Etienne’s reach. ASSE are now five points away from escaping the bottom two and avoiding relegation.
The last game of the round saw FC Fleury keep their faint hopes of European competition alive as they beat Girondins de Bordeaux 2-0. Ivorian international Rosemonde Kouassi gave an early lead to Fleury (8′), putting pressure on Bordeaux to equalise. Nevertheless, the hosts had the best chances and once again Kouassi was lethal – this time passing to set up Léa Le Garrec after a long run against two defenders. Fleury are fourth, nine points from a European place, while Bordeaux stay in sixth place, three points behind Montpellier.
