With two Aussies and Matildas competing in the D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.

Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais and surprising early contenders Paris FC continue their perfect journey with nine points from their opening three games. The reigning champions won 2-0 at ASJ Soyaux and superstar Marie-Antoinette Katoto scored her first goal of the season – Sandy Baltimore netted the other. Their rivals Olympique Lyonnais – without Ellie Carpenter on the teamsheet – blew Dijon away, defeating them 6-0 thanks to an outstanding performance from Catarina Macario and a hat-trick from Signe Bruun. Both PSG and Lyon are yet to concede a goal this season. Behind this terrific duo, Paris FC took the points with a 3-0 win against Stade de Reims (Greboval, Mateo, D. Corboz). Daphne Corboz had another great performance and scored her second goal in three games.

Round 3 looked like the first turning point of the season as Girondins de Bordeaux and Montpellier HSC were outplayed with 2-1 losses against FC Fleury 91 and EA Guingamp respectively. Bordeaux took an early lead thanks to a Katja Snoeijs’ penalty kick, however Polish international Dominika Grabowska assisted Fleury’s equaliser in the 83rd minute and scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 88th minute. Bordeaux is now five points behind the top three – and a European spot.

Montpellier is probably in the most uncomfortable position they’ve been for the last few years, with worrying gameplay despite having a strong squad. As in previous games, MHSC remain unable to capitalise on opportunities and only “wake up” for the last 30 minutes. Guingamp opened the scoring with a penalty kick from Margaux Le Mouël, then Montpellier’s Morgan Nicoli equalized on 70 minutes. Gunigamp reacted in the 78th minute to take the lead with Emmy Jezequel‘s goal. Mary Fowler came in a minute later but was unable to help Montpellier earn a result. Montpellier are now in sixth place.

The last game saw FF Issy get their first win of the season away to AS Saint-Etienne with a goal from Roselord Borgella.
