D1 Féminine

With Matildas defender Ellie Carpenter competing in D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how Carpenter and her team are faring.

Le Havre AC secured their D1 Féminine place for next season after winning 2-0 away to Dijon FCO. Kelsey Araujo (49′) and Sadie Sider-Einchenberg (89′) were the goalscorers. Meanwhile, Girondins de Bordeaux won 3-0 against ASJ Soyaux. Maëlle Garbino opened the score at 30′, Melissa Gomes doubled their lead at 41′ and Julie Dufour scored the third goal at 43′.

FC Fleury earned three points on the road as they defeated Stade de Reims 3-1. Batcheba Louis scored an early brace (14′, 23′) to help her team seal the win. Reims scored one thanks to Kethna Louis (32′), but Ewelyna Kamczyk made the game safe with a 74th minute goal. Fleury is now third in the championship.

Paris Saint-Germain won 1-0 at EA Guingamp thanks to Grace Geyoro’s goal after a great interception (30′).

Olympique Lyonnais defeated Paris FC 2-0. Vanessa Gilles opened the scoring with a header at 15′. Ellie Carpenter helped set up the second goal with a long ball to Delphine Cascarino, who assisted Signe Bruun at 88′.

Montpellier HSC won 3-2 at Rodez AF in a crazy game. Rodez was not playing at their usual ground: the City of Rodez allocated the pitch to the men’s rugby team, which plays in the 5th division. Charlotte Bilbaut gave the lead to Montpellier at 49′, but Rodez equalized ten minutes later thanks to Eloise Sevenne’s penalty kick. La Paillade were back in front after the hosts allowed an own goal (65′), then Rodez answered with Yrma Mze Issa (69′). Despite Montpellier’s Dominika Skorvankova being sent off at 71′, Montpellier scored the winner in stoppage time with Faustine Robert’s beautiful free kick (90+2′).
