With two Aussies and Matildas competing in D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.

To open the round, Stade de Reims earned a good point away at Paris FC. French youth international Kessya Bussy gave the lead to the visitors before halftime (40′) but Paris FC responded after Mathilde Bourdieu got the better of three defenders (42′). Reims kept attacking and took the lead again with Julie Pasquereau’s header (52′). The Parisians equalised with Bourdieu’s second goal at 76′.

Montpellier HSC won 4-1 on the road against EA Guingamp. Celeste Boureille scored a header and her first goal with the team (28′), then Faustine Robert doubled MHSC’s lead from the penalty spot (69′). Nérilia Mondésir, D1 Arkema’s Player of the Month, scored again at 83′ and former Guingamp defender Luna Gevitz made it 4-0. Guingamp earned a consolation thanks to Laurie Teinturier (89′), who scored her team’s first goal of the season … after five rounds.

Paris Saint-Germain didn’t let Dijon FCO surprise them, winning 3-1. Lieke Martens gave an early lead to PSG (3′), but Madeline Roth equalised at 18′ after winning a great duel against Elisa De Almeida and beating Sarah Bouhaddi with a powerful shot. Then Grace Geyoro scored a header, assisted by Ashley Lawrence, in a perfect moment to put PSG ahead at halftime (43′). Ramona Bachmann scored a third goal at 90′.

League newcomers Le Havre AC confirmed their good form by beating ASJ Soyaux 4-1. Christy Gavory (who scored a brace against PSG last week) scored four minutes after the kick-off. Nadjima Ali Nadjim, who was the creator of the opening goal, scored at 48′. Soyaux responded immediately thanks to Morgane Belkhiter but Le Havre wasn’t about to let any points slip. Nora Coton-Pelagie made it 3-1 after good work from Eva Kouache, then Belgian international Silke Demeyere added another one before full-time (90+4′).

Olympique Lyonnais won 3-1 against Girondins de Bordeaux. Lindsey Horan opened the score at 5′ but Melvine Malard scored an own goal from a corner-kick five minutes later. The unstoppable Wendie Renard gave Lyon a 2-1 lead at another corner kick, then Malard atoned for her own goal by scoring with a header (45′). The second half was scoreless.

Lamontagne scored again at 66′, recovering a ball that was given away by the Fleury goalkeeper. Rodez earned their first points of the season with this victory.
