With two Aussies and Matildas competing in D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players, and the teams they’re playing in, are faring.

Rodez AF earned a point at home against Dijon FCO, a good result as they fight to escape the relegation zone. The visitors opened the scoring thanks to Roselord Borgella (57′) before Mylaine Tarrieu equalised for Rodez at 88′. Rodez sits in 11th with four points.

Paris FC and Girondins de Bordeaux neutralised each other in a 1-1 draw. Melissa Gomes scored at the hour for Bordeaux and Gaëtane Thiney answered with a goal of her own, 10 minutes before the end of the game. However, the main talking point of the game – and not a good one – was an injury to the referee, who took a ball to the face. Luckily, they were replaced by a spectator who happened to be a qualified referee. These sorts of things should never happen in the French elite women’s game, three years after hosting the FIFA WWC.

There was another draw at Stade Municipal Georges Lefèvre as Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier HSC scored two each. Continuing her amazing journey this season, Nérilia Mondésir gave the lead to the visitors (24′) before Sandy Baltimore scored one for PSG after a misunderstanding between Lisa Schmitz and Celeste Boureille (32′). PSG’s newest star, Dutch international Jackie Groenen, scored her first goal for the club (49′) but Boureille equalized for la Paillade at 87′ and prevented PSG from earning three points.

Fleury FC 91 defeated Le Havre AC 3-0. After a struggle in the first half, Julie Piga scored a volley in first half stoppage time (45+2′). The teams had just come back from the locker room when Marine Dafeur made it two from the penalty spot (47′), then South African Ode Fulutudiliu scored her first goal in the D1 Arkema and the third one for Fleury (57′).

EA Guingamp earned their first point of the season and it was a very good one: a scoreless draw against league leaders Olympique Lyonnais. Lyon is dealing with a lot of injuries including Ada Hegerberg, who is out until 2023. Sonia Bompastor has not been able to name the same starting XI in consecutive games this season. After this draw, Lyon is two points in front of PSG. There was good news for OL as Ellie Carpenter and Amel Majri made their return to the team’s training sessions. It is hoped that Carpenter will return to playing in January.
