With Aussies Ellie Carpenter, Clare Hunt and Sarah Hunter competing in D1 FĂ©minine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how their teams are faring.
The second-to-last round of this D1 Arkema season saw our Aussies’ teams (Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain, Paris FC) qualify for the playoffs. The last round will see either FC Fleury or Stade de Reims take the last spot. Girondins de Bordeaux and Lille OSC are relegated. AS Saint-Etienne is currently 7th in their first season after promotion.
In this round, a lot of teams made rotations, and none of our Aussies played.
Dijon FCO and Stade de Reims split the points with a 1-1 draw. Although Reims took the lead thanks to NoĂ©mie Mouchon (52′), Dijon equalised through Meriame Terchoun and hurt Reims’ playoff chances.
FC Fleury beat Le Havre AC 3-1 away from home. The visitors found themselves 1-0 up thanks to Batcheba Louis at 10′, before Le Havre scored thanks to Mickaella Cardia (39′). FC Fleury broke away in the second half as Ewelyna Kamczyk (61′) and Rosemonde Kouassi (67′) made the difference.
The two relegated teams faced each other and Girondins de Bordeaux defeated Lille OSC (2-1). Nesrine Bahlouli (12′) and Laura Bourgouin (15′) created the gap, while LOSC Lille scored a consolation thanks to MaĂŻtĂ© Boucly at 90+4′.
Olympique Lyonnais won 2-1 against EA Guingamp. 17-year-old Maeline Mendy scored her first professional goal on her first team debut to put Lyon in front (25′). Vicki Becho made it 2-0 before halftime (43′). EA Guingamp reduced the deficit thanks to Alison Peniguel at 58′.
Montpellier HSC won 4-0 against AS Saint-Etienne. Faustine Robert (46′), LĂ©a Khelifi (72′), NĂ©rilia MondĂ©sir (79′) and Shnia Gordon (90+3′) all found the net.
Paris Saint-Germain and Paris FC battled to a 1-1 draw. Kessya Bussy opened the score for Paris FC (30′). However, PSG’s 16-year-old Anais Ebayilin, who has played a hundred minutes in D1 Arkema this season, equalised at 71′.
