With Aussies Ellie Carpenter, Sarah Hunter and coach Joe Montemurro competing in the Première Ligue, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how their teams are faring.

Le Havre AC 0-3 Stade de Reims
Reims won their first points of the season after controlling their match against Le Havre. Anaële Le Moguédec assisted Lucie Calba for the opener (0-1, 9′). Reims maintained the momentum and Maïté Boucly, set up by Anaële Le Moguédec, doubled the lead (0-2, 42′). Defender Léa Notel ensured Reims their first victory of 2024-25 (0-3, 90+3′). With three points on the board, Reims has moved out of the relegation zone.

EA Guingamp 0-8 Olympique Lyonnais
Guingamp suffered a second consecutive heavy defeat, after their 7-0 loss against Montpellier last week. As usual, Lyon were hard to deal with and their newfound efficiency in attack inflicted eight goals on the Breton defense. OL started strong with Daniëlle van de Donk (0-1, 5′) and Melchie Dumornay‘s goals (0-2, 7′). Vanessa Gilles scored a header from a corner just before half-time (0-3, 43′). There was more of the same after the break and Tabitha Chawinga scored a hat-trick in 17 minutes (0-6, 48’, 50’, 65’). Then, Chawinga assisted young Maëline Mendy for her second goal in senior football (0-7, 66′). Finally, Amel Majri, who entered play at half-time, found the net (0-8, 73′). Our Australian Ellie Carpenter, who was subbed on in the 59th minute, was not far from scoring in the 84when the opposing goalkeeper made a good save.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 RC Strasbourg
Marie-Antoinette Katoto, alone at the forefront of the attack, scored a hat-trick to give her team victory. The first came after a through ball (1-0, 8′), the second was via a header (38′), and the third was a curling shot after good play inside the area (3-0, 48′). The 17-year-old Norwegian Fløya Dorsin scored her first goal in the Arkema Premier League (4-0, 60′).

AS Saint-Etienne 3-2 FC Fleury
ASSE were back in the winner’s circle after a successful match. The first goal came from the right flank after great interplay between Chloé Tapia and Cindy Caputo (1-0, 25′). Then, Cindy Caputo found Fiona Bogi to widen the gap (2-0, 39′). Fleury tried to respond (28′, 45′) but they were not dangerous. Everything would accelerate in the second half. Chloé Tapia would again be at the heart of proceedings by finding Sarah Cambot, who cut it back for Sarah Stratigakis (3-0, 64′). Fleury and their Polish duo would wake up late in the game: firstly with a 22m shot from Ewelyna Kamczyk (3-1, 66′), before a counter-attack led by Evelyn Badu and concluded by Dominika Kopinska (3-2, 87′).

FC Nantes 0-2 Dijon FCO
After a complicated week during which the club president announced he wanted to install budgetary restrictions on the women’s team, Dijon quickly opened the scoring with a goal from Wu Chengshu (0-1, 4′). The assister of the first goal, Klaudia Jedlinska, scored the second goal of the game, on a pass from her compatriot Nadia Krezyman (0-2, 68′). Nantes are still without a goal in front of their home fans this season.

Paris FC 4-2 Montpellier HSC
One of the biggest matches in the Arkema Première Ligue lived up to the hype. Paris FC quickly took the advantage thanks to Maëlle Garbino’s goal-poaching instincts (1-0, 11′). Despite being dominated, La Paillade answered. Montpellier equalised from a corner via Ifeoma Onumonu (1-1, 26′). Six minutes later, the Parisiennes were on top again with a shot from Kessya Bussy, deflected by Clara Matéo and deceiving the opposing goalkeeper (2-1, 32′). There were numerous chances for both sides and Montpellier equalised with a strike from Onumonu (2-2, 80′). Entering the game in the 76′, Julie Dufour’s double gave victory to Paris FC (4-2, 88′, 90+5′). Our Aussie Sarah Hunter was on the bench.
