It’s the final Aussies in Nordic Football Wrap for 2023! Read on to see how Aussies in the Nordic leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland) fared during the past week!

AGF finished the first phase of the Kvindeliga with a 2-2 home draw against Fortuna Hjørring. Ally Green opened the scoring from an unlikely angle (see below video) and Mie Lerche’s 89th minute strike secured a point for the Aarhus side. Both Green and Matilda McNamara played for the whole game.

McNamara celebrated her 25th birthday during the week!

Daisy Cleverley‘s 85th minute goal (her first of the season) was enough for HB Køge to earn three precious points and a 1-0 win against Aalborg BK. Both Cleverley and Claudia Bunge played for the full 90 minutes, while Deborah-Anne de la Harpe was an unused sub in her final week with the club. It only took a few days for de la Harpe to appear at a new club – the Irish international will finish the 2023-24 campaign with Brisbane Roar.

FC Nordsjælland also left it late, with Josefine Funch scoring in the 93rd minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 win over Kolding. Malia Steinmetz played a complete game.

We hope that the winter break is enough for Winonah Heatley to recover from injury and return to playing action. The season resumes with the Danish Cup quarter finals on Saturday 9 March (AGF travel to Fortuna Hjørring and Nordsjælland are away to third-tier outfit Dalum / Næsby), while the second phase of the league is scheduled to commence the following week.

Brann Kvinner came from two goals down to rescue a point at home to Lyon, keeping them in a strong position to make the Champions League quarter finals (seven points after four games). Larissa Crummer played the full 90 minutes.

Aivi Luik was on the field for the whole game, but BK Häcken lost 3-1 to Chelsea at home. Häcken are still looking good, sitting second in Champions League Group D, one point behind leaders Chelsea and one point ahead of Paris FC.
