Aussies in Nordic football has been a recurring theme over the years and 2023 is no different. Read on to see how Aussies in the Nordic leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland) fared during the past week!
There were some mixed results in Round 8 of the Damallsvenskan. The good news is that the five teams containing Aussies are all situated in the top eight on the table.
BK Häcken played out a 2-2 away draw against an FC Rosengård side climbing up the ladder. While Rosengård was once again without keeper Teagan Micah, she nonetheless had some news of her own this week:
🚨Understand that Australian goalkeeper, Teagan Micah, is set to leave FC Rosengård as her contract ends this summer.
Also understand it is most likely that she will end up in the WSL.https://t.co/tbhjjXZgid

AGF maintained their two point lead at the top of the Elitedivisionen promotion/relegation playoff table with a convincing 3-0 home win over Sundby. Ally Green played her first full game for AGF, and Matilda McNamara also played 90 minutes.
As would be expected of someone who grew up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Green is enjoying any chance to be near water (scroll through the photos in the below post).

Winonah Heatley started and played 62 minutes as FC Nordsjælland earned a creditable 1-1 home draw with Elitedivisionen Championship playoff leaders HB Køge. Heatley has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, so it’s good to see her being trusted in a big game.
