FC Nordsjælland maintained their two point lead at the top of the Kvindeliga, courtesy of Anna Walter’s 74th minute winner in their 1-0 home triumph over Fortuna Hjørring. Winonah Heatley (wearer of a beautiful rainbow armband in previous games, as can be seen below) and Malia Steinmetz played complete games.

Nordsjælland will seal the league title in the next round if they win and Brøndby fail to secure three points. Despite the post embedded below, we’re confident that Steinmetz is fit enough to play another full game if required 😁

AGF lost 4-0 to Brøndby on their travels – Ally Green was an unused substitute and Matilda McNamara wasn’t named on the team sheet. Green is now in Spain with the Football Ferns, along with the other Kiwis based in Denmark (Steinmetz, Daisy Cleverley and Claudia Bunge).

Three of the four teams containing Aussies came away with three points in Round 8 of the Damallsvenskan on the weekend.
Both Vesna Milivojević (IFK Norrköping) and Angie Beard (Linköping FC) played full games when Norrköping hosted Linköping in the “köping” derby. The home side finished the better of the two with a 1-0 victory, and we hope Beard is köping OK with the loss.

Kristianstads DFF went into halftime down a goal in their away game against IF Brommapojkarna, but held their nerve to take the game 3-1. Clare Polkinghorne played out the full game, the win seeing her team rise into the top three.

Was this to be the long-awaited weekend where Aivi Luik returns to the BK Häcken matchday squad after nursing a hamstring complaint for weeks? Sadly no, but her team got the job done 2-0 at home against the always-tough Hammarby. Häcken rose a position on the ladder to second as a result.
Luik can be seen celebrating the win with her team in this clip from after the game.
