We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!
Round 15 of the Damallsvenskan was a successful one for three of the four teams containing Aussies in their squads. The league will now pause for the Olympic Games tournament and resume in mid-August.
Angie Beard played a full match for Linköping FC in their 2-0 away victory over Piteå IF. The result has them leapfrogging their opponents into 6th place on the ladder. We may see Polly Doran in action the next time Linköping take the field, as the former Melbourne Victory defender will be eligible for selection after the mid-season break.

IFK Norrköping bounced back from last week’s home loss with a strong 2-0 home win over the higher-placed Kristianstads DFF. Vesna Milivojević played a full match for Norrköping, assisting the second goal, while Clare Polkinghorne was substituted for the visitors in the 83rd minute.
BK Häcken thumped Trelleborg 7-0 at home, as Aivi Luik enjoyed her first start in the black and gold for several months, having come off the bench last week. Luik was substituted after an hour.

AGF finished in fifth and can be pleased with the improvement from last season – during 2022-23, they had to fight for a Kvindeliga place in the promotion/relegation playoffs. No such stress for Matilda McNamara and Ally Green this time around.
HB Køge ended the 2023-24 campaign as bronze medallists (3rd place). Daisy Cleverley will not be returning to Køge in 2024-25 – we’ll keep an eye on what decision Claudia Bunge makes for next season.
