We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!

Round 16 of the Damallsvenskan was a bit of a rarity: none of the teams containing Aussies managed to pick up three points.

Remy Siemsen and Clare Polkinghorne started for Kristianstads DFF in their home 0-1 loss to Piteå IF. Polkinghorne went on to play the full match while Siemsen was substituted in the 75th minute. While their team remains fourth, there is a massive 12 points between them and the top three.

BK Häcken dropped a place from second to third after their 1-0 away loss to ladder leaders  FC Rosengård, a game in which Aivi Luik wasn’t listed in the visitor’s team list. We learnt this week the circumstances surrounding Luik’s recent matchday omissions:

FC Nordsjælland maintained their 100% winning record after three rounds of the Kvindeliga with a 2-0 home triumph over Odense Q. Winonah Heatley celebrated her 50th appearance for the club by playing a full game, scoring her first goal of the season and being named Player of the Match! Malia Steinmetz was not listed in the Nordsjælland matchday squad.

Football Fern Ava Collins started and played 86 minutes in Kolding‘s 2-2 home draw with B 93. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any game time for our other Danish-based Kiwis – Claudia Bunge was an unused sub as HB Køge lost 1-0 away to Brøndby, and Ally Green wasn’t named in the matchday squad as AGF lost 3-0 at home to Fortuna Hjørring.
