We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!

Kristianstads DFF kicked off Round 19 of the Damallsvenskan with a 4-1 victory over AIK. Remy Siemsen started and only came off in added time at the end of the game, while Clare Polkinghorne came off the bench in the 85th minute.

IFK Norrköping lost vital ground on Kristianstads after their narrow 1-0 home loss against BK Häcken. Vesna Milivojević – who played out the full 90 minutes – picked up her second yellow card in successive outings for the home side in her full 90 minutes. Aivi Luik still awaits the outcome of an appeal against her three-month suspension from a painkilling injection two years ago, despite not failing a doping test, and was unable to be selected for the visitors.

Häcken then defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the first leg of their Round 2 UWCL qualifier!

In one sense, Linköping FC‘s away trip to Djurgården was a carbon copy of their UWCL game against First Vienna: Angie Beard and Polly Doran played full games, with Doran finding the back of the net. However, this trip was far from a success and ended with a 5-2 defeat, one which leaves Linköping 10th on the ladder.

FC Nordsjælland have had a productive week, first maintaining their perfect start to the Kvindeliga campaign, and then enjoying success in the Danish Cup.

On the weekend, the Tigers travelled to Copenhagen and defeated B 93 by four goals to one. Winonah Heatley played the opening 55 minutes, while Malia Steinmetz played the second half.

Nordsjælland then showed no issues with a midweek away trip, winning 7-1 against second tier Solrød and progressing to the 3rd Round of the Cup. Heatley and Steinmetz were both in the starting lineup.
