We’re excited to once again bring you details of Aussies playing in Nordic football leagues (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). Read on to see how they fared over the last week in our Nordic Wrap!

Kristianstads DFF extended their winning streak to four games – a feat only matched by leaders Rosengård right now – in Round 20 of the Damallsvenskan with a 1-0 away win over Vittsjö. Clare Polkinghorne headed home a 92nd-minute winner as she and Remy Siemsen played out the full match.

Kristianstads followed this up with a midweek 2-0 away Swedish Cup win over Kalmar, progressing to the next round.

IFK Norrköping played out a tough 2-2 away draw with Djurgården, a team that sits one place below them on the ladder. Vesna Milivojević was unavailable for the visitors.

BK Häcken didn’t take part in the league this week due to Champions League commitments. Aivi Luik still awaits the outcome of an appeal against her three-month suspension from a painkilling injection two years ago, despite not failing a doping test, and was unable to be selected for the visitors.

Häcken maintained a deep defensive line in their home 1-0 win last week against the star-studded Gunners, choosing to counterattack at speed with long balls behind the Arsenal defence. The return leg wasn’t so kind to Häcken, the English side overturning the deficit with a 4-0 home win and progressing to the group stage. Kyra Cooney-Cross started the first leg for Arsenal and came off the bench in the second, while Caitlin Foord entered both games as a substitute.

Linköping FC stormed back into the winner’s circle with a 4-0 home triumph against Trelleborg. In a scene which would be familiar to Melbourne Victory fans, Polly Doran and Angie Beard both played full games. The result moves Linköping into 8th place.

See below for footage of the goals, including two assists from Doran!

Meanwhile, Ally Green was absent from the team sheet as AGF were defeated 3-2 at home by Brøndby. It’s good to see that Ally has been spending off-field time with Ava Collins and former Sydney FC teammate Hannah Bacon.
