Hásteinsvöllur in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, home ground of IBV

Aussies are currently playing in two Nordic leagues, and Beyond 90 will be there to follow their progress each week!

Round 14 of the Damallsvenskan – the second since resuming after the summer break – saw plenty of Aussies in action.

Daniela Galic was subbed off for Vittsjö GIK in the 89th minute in their 1-1 away draw with Djurgårdens, but left her mark on the game in a major way, scoring her team’s goal in the 86th minute.

Courtney Nevin‘s Malmö FF took on Jada Whyman and Angie Beard‘s AIK at home, coming away with the points in a 2-0 victory. Nevin and Whyman both played full games, while Beard was not listed on the match card.

Deborah-Anne de la Harpe debuted for Norrköping, and teammate Vesna Milivojević continued her goal-scoring form from the last round in their 2-0 home defeat of Polly Doran‘s Linköping. De la Harpe entered the game on 78 minutes, nine minutes after Milivojević scored the last goal of the contest. Doran was an unused substitute.

Visitors Kolbotn could not find a way to defeat Lynn in Round 17 of the Toppserien, despite their opponent being reduced to 10 players just before the break. All three Ferns (Jacqui Hand, Liz Anton, and Olivia Chance) started and completed the game, with Hand receiving a yellow card just before the game’s end.

A midweek Round 18 fixture also saw Kolbotn defeated 2-0 at home by ladder-toppers Brann – not the worst of results given their respective ladder positions. Once again, all three Ferns started, with Chance receiving a yellow card in the 28th minute, while Hand was substituted in the 87th minute.

With the news that Nordsjælland captain Winonah Heatley has moved on, there are no longer any players in the Kvindeliga with an Aussie connection.

We’ll keep an eye on squad changes, and if the situation changes, we’ll resume our coverage of the top-flight Danish league.

There are no Aussies currently listed as playing in the Icelandic competition. If that changes, we’ll be following their progress.
