Hásteinsvöllur in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, home ground of IBV

Aussies are currently playing in two Nordic leagues, and Beyond 90 will be there to follow their progress each week!

Round 16 was a largely positive one for the Aussies involved in the Damallsvenskan over the weekend.

At 40 years of age, the amazing Aivi Luik has quietly resumed her starting spot with BK Häcken the last few rounds, putting in 90-minute performances in her fourth season with her second-placed club. On Sunday, her team came up trumps in a commanding 4-0 away win over Daniela Galic‘s mid-table Vittsjö GIK. Both Aussies played full matches.

Polly Doran‘s Linköping remain in the bottom three but encouragingly picked up a second successive win, 2-1 at home to Alingsås. Doran maintained her starting spot and played for 76 minutes.

Malmö FF enjoyed a 3-1 home win over Växjö, with the team now the competition front-runners. Courtney Nevin was there for the duration, providing the delivery for her team’s first goal.

Jada Whyman and Angie Beard would have been thrilled with AIK‘s 3-0 away win over higher-placed Kristianstads, even if Beard was again not on the match card. Remy Siemsen and Amy Sayer both started for the home side, with Siemsen substituted in added time.

Deborah-Anne de la Harpe played a full match and Vesna Milivojević 88 minutes – also picking up a yellow card – in mid-table Norrköping‘s fourth successive win, this one 2-1 away to Piteå.

There are no Aussies currently listed as playing in the Icelandic competition. If that changes, we’ll be following their progress.
