Four Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland) are hosting Aussie players this year, read on to see how they fared in the past week!
The Danish Elitedivisionen Championship round robins reached their halfway mark over the last week, with five out of ten rounds now complete. All the more remarkable, then, that Fortuna Hjørring have already secured a top two place and Champions League football for next season, courtesy of their 1-1 away draw with KoldingQ.

All three Aussies started the game, with Angie Beard and Clare Wheeler playing the full game, while Indiah-Paige Riley left the action at halftime.
In Round 4 of the promotion/relegation playoffs, Jenna McCormick made an immediate impression upon her return to action by heading home AGF Aarhus‘ first goal of their 5-0 away victory against OdenseQ. The win sees AGF consolidate second position on the ladder as the round-robin halfway point approaches.

It wasn’t LSK Kvinner‘s finest hour as they recorded a home 1-1 draw this week in their Round 5 Toppserien game against bottom side Røa. After a poor first half in which LSK could have fallen behind (Røa missed a penalty), Karly Roestbakken entered the game at the 63rd minute, indicating perhaps that the worst of her foot soreness is behind her. New signing Fiona Worts however was not to take the field, and the team as a whole will have been looking for an improved showing in their big Round 6 midweek game against Ally Green‘s Vålerenga.
An improved showing it was, despite appearances to the contrary in a 3-0 home loss. For the first 25 minutes in particular, LSK was right in the contest, and they also finished the game well. The middle period of the game belonged to Vålerenga and they made their dominance count, with former Canberra United player Elise Thorsnes scoring their second. Roestbakken played the last 20 minutes of this game and Worts came on close to full time, but Green is yet to be listed on a Vålerenga match card.
A few days earlier, Vålerenga’s strong week kicked off with a fifth round 2-0 home win against Kolbotn.

Round 5 of the Damallsvenskan was played over the weekend.
A sore toe kept Clare Polkinghorne out of Vittsjö GIK‘s 3-0 away win over AIK, a game in which both Katrina Gorry (for Vittsjö) and Remy Siemsen (AIK) played the full 90 minutes. It was a game to remember for Jutta Rantala, who scored all three goals.
Teagan Micah started and Charli Grant came on late for FC Rosengård in what is always a showpiece game, an away fixture against BK Häcken. As befits the nature of the game for these two ladder-topping teams, it finished as a 2-2 draw.
Courtney Nevin came on in the 72nd minute for Hammarby as her team defeated Umeå IK 2-0 at home… but still no sign of her teammate Kyra Cooney-Cross.

Finally, Annie Haffenden was an unused substitute as second-tier Växjö DFF continued their winning ways in the Round 4 game against previously unbeaten Mallbackens, winning 1-0 away.
