Four Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland) are hosting Aussie players this year, read on to see how they fared in the past week!
Round 6 of the Danish Elitedivisionen Championship round-robins saw Fortuna Hjørring overcome traditional rivals Brøndby IF 2-0 away from home. Indiah-Paige Riley continued the recent good form that has earned her a spot in the starting XI, scoring the team’s second goal.
Riley, Angie Beard and Clare Wheeler all played a full game, with Riley and Beard also named in the league’s Team of the Month.

In Round 5 of the promotion/relegation playoffs, Jenna McCormick‘s AGF Aarhus fought out a 2-2 home draw against ladder topping Sundby. With the round-robin now half over and AGF occupying second place, the team is well positioned to retain its top flight status.

LSK Kvinner went into their Round 7 away Toppserien game against Arna-Bjørnar as narrow favourites, but found themselves a goal down after 10 minutes from a corner. LSK had the better of the game and the chances afterwards, however their lack of finishing precision meant they would lose because of that sole early goal.
Karly Roestbakken entered the game at the 55th minute, providing energy and leadership. LSK remains in fourth place and takes on third-placed Rosenborg next, at the LSK Hall.
And ssssshhhhh, don’t tell anyone, it looks like Roestbakken may be taking part in an Optus Sport interview:
It’s quite possible that Ally Green may have to be patient in her bid to appear for Vålerenga. Her team is riding high with seven wins from as many games and breaking into a matchday squad full of Norwegian internationals may not be easy. Their 6-0 home win over Avaldsnes shows how well they are currently travelling.
Vålerenga’s next game could be one of the best matchups of the season, as they come up against the also undefeated Brann.

Round 6 of the Damallsvenskan was played over the weekend.
There was a pleasing result for Vittsjö GIK with a 0-0 home draw against high flyers BK Häcken. Both Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry played a full game and feature in the footage below.
Remy Siemsen played 66 minutes during AIK‘s away 2-0 loss to Umeå IK, a result which unfortunately sees the team holding up the ladder.

Teagan Micah started and Charli Grant came on late for FC Rosengård in their 4-1 home win against Courtney Nevin‘s Hammarby. Grant’s time on the pitch was short but sweet, as illustrated by this cheeky backheel assist:

Nevin played out the full game and will be delighted by the arrival of her Melbourne Victory and Matildas teammate Kyra Cooney-Cross, who is settling into her new home for the coming months.

Hammarby’s next game is against Vittsjö, so there is some chance of four Aussies on the pitch at the same time.
Finally, Annie Haffenden joined the action in the 76th minute for undefeated second tier side Växjö DFF, who drew 1-1 at home against sixth-placed Sundsvall.

The 2022 Úrvalsdeild Kvenna is off and running, with the trend of midweek rather than weekend games continuing for Round 2.
After a strong season opener, Melina Ayres‘ Breiðablik team travelled to Round 1 victors Keflavik, going down 1-0 to the home side. Ayres came into the game at halftime.
Margaux Chauvet played in her second game for KR Reykjavik as they fell 5-1 away to Stjarnan. While Chauvet played the full game – picking up a yellow card in the 90th minute – Susan Phonsongkham was once again not on the team sheet.
