Four Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland) are hosting Aussie players this year, read on to see how they fared in the past week!
There were celebrations at Fortuna Hjørring when they overcame Thisted FC to take out the Danish Cup. The Aussie trio of Indiah-Paige Riley, Angie Beard and Clare Wheeler all started and played a full game or close to it (Riley played 89 minutes before leaving the field with what appeared to be an ankle injury). Beard and Riley both feature in the video below, towards the end.
Round 7 of the promotion/relegation playoffs saw Jenna McCormick‘s AGF Aarhus draw 1-1 away against third-placed B.93, a result that sees AGF stay in second place. McCormick played the full game. This was a key result as only the top two from this phase will play in next season’s Elitedivisionen, and just one point separates second from third with three games remaining.

There were no Toppserien games involving Aussies as most top-flight teams played NM Cup Round 2 fixtures.
While Karly Roestbakken wasn’t on the match-card for LSK Kvinner, English A-League Womens’ golden boot Fiona Worts notched four goals in her first full game for the club.

Rounds 8 and 9 of the Damallsvenskan were played over the last week.
Teagan Micah and Charli Grant‘s FC Rosengård played two successive home games. In Round 8 they were disappointed to not gain maximum points, drawing 1-1 against Eskilstuna United, then they defeated Örebro 2-0.
Micah played the first of the two fixtures, while Grant was brought on just after the hour mark in both matches.

Hammarby curiously recorded a 2-0 away win in Round 8, then followed that up with a 2-0 home loss. Kyra Cooney-Cross was not selected for either matchday squad.
However, Courtney Nevin started and played 77 minutes in both games. She recorded an assist and received a yellow card during the victory over IF Brommapojkarna, and backed that up with more solid game time as Hammarby were defeated by Kristianstads.

Vittsjö GIK can’t have asked for more from their team. Katrina Gorry and Clare Polkinghorne played full games in both fixtures, winning the first 1-0 away to Kalmar and the second 2-1 at home against Pitea. Reliable striker Clara Markstedt was the hero, scoring all three goals, and her efforts have helped Vittsjö into fifth place on the ladder.

The Round 4 Úrvalsdeild Kvenna game between Breiðablik and KR Reykjavik had a distinctly Aussie flavour as all three Iceland-based Aussies were on the park.
The visiting Breiðablik team took the honours 4-0, with Melina Ayres starting and playing 73 minutes. The home side started with both Margaux Chauvet and Susan Phonsongkham, playing 90 minutes and 83 minutes respectively.
