In a thrilling A-League Women Round 4 match, Wellington Phoenix emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Western United.
The first half saw Wellington take the lead with two goals. Chloe Knott opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Macey Leigh Fraser added to the tally in the 41st minute, further solidifying Wellington’s position.
Western United faced a setback in the 76th minute when Keiwa Hieda scored an own goal, extending Wellington’s lead. Despite the challenge, Western United fought back, and in the dying moments of the game, Chloe Logarzo scored in the 90+3 minute.
The result places Wellington Phoenix in the third position on the ladder, showcasing their early-season form and determination. Meanwhile, Western United currently occupies the seventh position.
