With a season already badly disrupted due to travel restrictions imposed as a result of the WA Government’s tough stance on border closures, Perth Glory was dealt another Covid related blow on Wednesday when the club announced that three players and two members of its women’s team coaching staff had tested positive to the virus.

The NSW Department of Health guidelines states that anyone testing positive must self isolate for 7 days from the day they took the test and so the five individuals will be unable to attend the Liberty A-League game against Newcastle Jets this Sunday, which is still going ahead according to a statement from Perth Glory.

It’s understood that the players are in individual units at an accommodation site in Sydney and so there are no concerns about others being deemed as close contacts and potentially also having to self isolate.
