Fellow Australian Jenna McCormick has previously played in Iceland (for club Stjarnan), as well as former W-League goalkeeper, Chantel Jones (Thor/KA).

Based in the capital Reykjavik, the KR has a long and illustrious history in football since 1899, with the women’s team established in 1972.

Despite winning 18 titles across their history, KR have struggled of late in the Icelandic top division, the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, finishing either mid-table or just above the relegation zone in the past few years.

The winner of the competition qualifies for a place in the 2019-20 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
