Round 2 of the 2020-21 W-League season is in the books and Canberra are the early league leaders.
Rosie Galea led the Wanderers to a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets, scoring a brace in her first ever start for the Red & Black.
Canberra continued their last-minute excitement with Nicki Flannery nailing the winner in the final moments.
Victory and Roar played an entertaining 0-0 draw, somewhat thrilling the “426” football starved Victorian fans, however there was also the unfortunate news of a season-ending injury for Natalie Tathem.
It’s not just the youngsters showing up, and some are wondering if the fountain of youth has been discovered:
- Michelle Heyman IS better than ever
- Lisa De Vanna is as fast as ever and making her case for Tony Gustavsson
Who does Gustavsson have scouting for him during the W-League?
Plus we’ve got post-match press conference goodies for you all to listen in on.
And that’s it for Round 2, @CanberraUnited top the ladder with their second win of 2 games. #WLeague
