Unfortunately, Walters was diagnosed with a significant injury – popliteal artery entrapment – forcing her out of the game for two years, and she needed three operations before she could return to the pitch.

Walters played for Canberra United in the 2008-09, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, making 13 appearances.
