Matildas
The Asian Football Confederation Women’s Football Committee recommends Australia to host the 2026 Asian Cup. A Canberra Times article stated that there will be three host cities. Canberra was not invited to be part of the bid.
This is very cool, and will also mean we’ll avoid having to play the qualifying games that we would’ve after the 2022 result. https://t.co/Rocgyk0TZW

I’m certain that any Australian organisers will make sure the surface is safe.
But I don’t believe for a second the AFC would effectively say “we were ok with games being played in 15cm of snow, or 45 degrees of heat, but we draw the line at the MCG because of the shape.”

Tickets for the two game Matildas v China series are in high demand!
I have no idea where I’m sitting, I have no idea where I’m sleeping, but I’ll see ya in Adelaide! https://t.co/Ic1gKEMkHX

Euro 2025 funding update
The Swiss Council of States have agreed to a commission motion demanding the Federal Council support the UEFA Women’s Euro with 15m Francs.
Cities and Cantons have so far pledged 65m Francs. They believe the Federal Council should also make an appropriate contribution.

Players Aren’t Machines
Annual U17 World Cups? That’s a disgraceful decision.
This is absolutely insane. We talk about player welfare all the time. Is there anyone thinking about school education, clubs or physical/psychology impact? Probably not, if you take decisions like that. No words for that. https://t.co/cCkcEkVrRp

More competitions, more qualifiers, more games, more travelling, less rest, less safe training, less fit players, etc.
The game is booming at an exponentially fast rate, but there needs to be room allow for safe training programs and research implementation to catch up.

Workplace Relationships
In the same sentence, during a pre-match presser for Chelsea v Arsenal, Emma Hayes said player-coach relationships and player-to-player relationships are inappropriate, leading to … intense discussion on Twitter.
Player-to-player relationships within the same squad are inappropriate and can lead to significant challenges for managers, Chelsea coach Emma Hayes said https://t.co/N4QFdcbknu pic.twitter.com/oVyJxJVqXw
— Reuters (@Reuters) March 15, 2024
Hayes apologised for her wording in a post-match presser.
Hayes: “I didn’t think it was right for me to use the term inappropriate. I have zero critcism of any player in my dressing room for anything. Their professionalism for what they’ve given to the club, regardless of their status, regardless of who they’re in a relationship with”
— JPH (@jessyjph) March 15, 2024
Anyone aligning coach x player relationships with player x player relationships is fundamentally misunderstanding the power imbalances at play
— JPH (@jessyjph) March 14, 2024
Player x player relationships aren’t a stain on the professional game, and not should be interrupted as such.
It’s hard to argue that PxP take the game less seriously, and make it less professional when there is an abundance of successful examples of a player dating a teammate.
— SHE scores bangers (@SHEscoresbanger) March 14, 2024
It’s fine if queer people only engage with women’s football because of visibly queer players & the fact we’re debating this instead of how to safeguard players from inappropriate relationships is why equating player relationships with player/coach relationships is dangerous!
— Becky Taylor-Gill (@beckytaylorgill) March 15, 2024
However professional the WSL gets I’m sorry but you will not be able to stop the lesbians from doing lesbianism. It’s in the DNA of our great league. The WSL was built on the backs of lesbian chaos.
— Becky Taylor-Gill (@beckytaylorgill) March 14, 2024
Emma Hayes slandering player-player relationships is a bad look but it’s even funnier when she’s about to go to the USWNT who literally created player-player relationships
— FIFA IS CORRUPT (@keiirawalsh) March 14, 2024
Btw i don’t even know why Emma is complaining. The couples in her team are mostly peaceful. She should ask Jonas what his eyes have seen

Arsenal brought white socks to their away game against Chelsea, but couldn’t wear them because Chelsea were using white socks. Arsenal obtained black socks (apparently from the Chelsea store!) and the game was delayed by 30 minutes.
Arsenal had buy socks from
the Chelsea Megastore and put tape over the Nike logo since they are sponsored by Adidas. You couldn’t script it.
