Eric hosts, Dale & Steffen celebrate and Maj outlines her Queens of the Week Strategy.
On last week’s pod, we were unsure if Adelaide United Pride merchandise was available. Thanks to @annieo on Twitter, who let us know that AUFC Pride merch is available via the club’s website. We were also unsure on transfer fees for ALW players, Annie kindly informed us that BK Hacken paid a modest fee when they signed Dylan Holmes from Adelaide.
History: Karly Pumpa, Matildas Cap 84
Matildas Debut: 1994
Grassroots Club: Stormbirds & Canberra City
Appearances: 16 (4 A internationals), including 3 World Cup qualifying games
Last of the 1994 debutantes. Karly moved into coaching and data analytics, and as a video analyst for the Matildas leading into the 2000 Olympics (via Encyclopedia of Matildas).
Groubes vine:
A fast and strong striker who could dance through all sorts of defences. A Canberra local who played for Stormbirds (great team name!) and Canberra City (my team!) Karly was a dominant force in junior and youth football and futsal, and when knee injuries impeded her progress she transitioned from an onfield to a support role as one of the team’s first video analysts.
