Dale – Morocco has done a wonderful job hosting the Africa Cup of Nations. Their team made the Final and this game had the biggest crowd in the history of the tournament.

Eric – In April, Blacktown Spartans goalkeeper Alexis Tan played in a friendly against the Philippines senior team. On Monday, she started for the Philippines U18 team against Australia in the AFF U18 Championship.

Maj – Despite being a veteran of the German national team, this is Alexandra Popp’s first Euros – she’s scored in all four of Germany’s games!

Steffen – Former Canberra United midfielder Refiloe Jane (often referred to as ‘Fifi’, short for ‘Fifinho’) captained South Africa to their first Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations trophy on Sunday, defeating Morocco 2-1. South Africa had lost five previous finals in 1995, 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2018.
