The Young Matildas claimed their second win at the 2019 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers with a 3-1 win over Myanmar.

Sydney FC championship winning striker Princess Ibini, Bankstown City’s Mary Fowler and Melbourne City’s Chelsea Blissett were on target as the Young Matildas moved one step closer to a berth at the 2019 AFC U-19 Women’s Championships later this year.

Ibini opened the scoring Australia in the first half with a neat volley on the shadows of half time.

The Young Matildas carried the momentum after the break when Fowler added their second, and her sixth for the tournament, just two minutes after the re-start.

Myanmar looked to mount a challenge through substitute Myat Noe Khin scoring against the run of play but Blisset snuffed out any potential comeback with an 84th minute free kick.

The win leaves Australia on top of Group A with six points.

A win or draw against Uzbekistan on Tuesday will be enough for the Gary van Egmond led side to qualify for the 2019 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship.
