Player profiles: Sasha Grove

How many seasons have you played NPLW1 with your current club ?
Three seasons.

Likely onfield position ?
Attacking midfield.

What’s got you excited about the season ?
Well, this year we have the opportunity to play each team a total of three times, so that’s going to be really exciting. Being able to play a couple more games will definitely bring an extra level of competitiveness and I can’t wait to see it!

Who is a rising star in your team that fans should watch out for ?
Meg Roden. She is an attacking midfielder who is pretty silky on the ball, she’s had some awesome moments in our games last season and I can’t wait to see what more she can offer this season.

Are there any match-ups you are particularly looking forward to ? (This could be a specific opposition player, and/or another club)
Obviously, beating Belconnen for the first time in a few years was a pretty special moment for us last season and we’ll be aiming to continue our streak this year. But on the note of that, we’ll be keeping our heads up for our clashes against CFC (Canberra Croatia) and Gungahlin who were pretty tough competitors last season.

Anything else you’d like to add ?
We’re a young squad, but we definitely have aspirations to win this season and come out on top.
