With Matildas defender Ellie Carpenter competing in D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how her and the team she’s playing in is faring.

Montpellier HSC earned three important points away to Girondins de Bordeaux. La Paillade opened the scoring from a good combination between Nérilia Mondésir and Faustine Robert that gave a perfect pass to Céleste Boureille (26’). Mondésir was involved again when Dominika Škorvánková made it 2-0, which was the final score.

EA Guingamp surprised Stade de Reims, winning 2-0 thanks to a late Aissata Traore brace (85’, 89’).

Paris FC got the better of Dijon FCO with a 2-0 victory. Mathilde Bourdieu struck first in the 53rd minute, assisted by Gaëtane Thiney, who would score the second goal on 78 minutes.

Olympique Lyonnais won 5-0 against Rodez AF, but the biggest news from the game was the return of Ellie Carpenter! Goals from Delphine Cascarino (21’), Wendie Renard (40’) and Dzsenifer Marozsan (43’, 45+1’) made it 4-0 at halftime. In the 58th minute, Amel Majri scored the 8000th goal since their women’s team was formed in 1950.

The highlight of the game was Carpenter’s return after 259 days out with injury. She confessed to “being tired after 10 minutes” but was very happy to make her comeback.
