With Aussies Ellie Carpenter, Clare Hunt and Sarah Hunter competing in D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how their teams are faring.

Olympique Lyonnais had a perfect opening to the campaign with a 4-0 win away at Le Havre AC, in front of 4,676 spectators. Coach Sonia Bompastor selected another different starting lineup and in fact has never selected the same starting XI in two consecutive games – it was her 76th different starting XI in 80 games as OL’s head coach.

A Eugénie Le Sommer banger gave the lead to OL (25′), then Wendie Renard scored her first header of the year (47′). Danielle van de Donk made it three at 73′ and Vanessa Gilles scored a fourth goal at 86′ – both OL central defenders scored this round. Ellie Carpenter was subbed off at 59′ for Griedge Mbock, who is back from her long-term injury and has been called up for French national team duty.

Paris Saint-Germain won 3-0 against Girondins de Bordeaux, with Sakina Karchaoui winning the game for PSG in a brilliant four minute spell. She opened the scoring from the spot (31′), then assisted Sandy Baltimore (33′) and Grace Geyoro (35′). However, this game’s highlight was Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s return from injury as a 75th minutre substitute – her last game was on July 14th 2022 and her last appearance for PSG was on May 29th 2022.
