Western United dominated Canberra United 5-0 in their first visit to McKellar Park.

All the goals were scored before halftime as the players endured searing heat. Scorers included Danielle Steer, Mel Taranto, Hannah Keane (who recorded a brace) and Sydney Cummings.

The home side looked shaken from last week’s loss to Wellington Phoenix, while the visitors showed that they can function just fine without Jess McDonald. McDonald’s guest stint is over, but the American World Cup winner has no doubt returned to Racing Louisville knowing she has helped build a strong foundation for the season.
