The midweek rescheduled Round 17 fixture between Canberra United and Sydney FC was United’s final home game of the season. Keeper Chloe Lincoln pulled off several outstanding saves to deny the then-competition-leading visitors. Michelle Heyman’s 56th-minute goal was to be the only one of the contest, leaving the Sky Blues looking ahead to their Round 22 game to determine the premier’s plate. Heyman’s decider broke Sam Kerr’s record for the most goals-plus-assists by any player in a single Liberty A-League season.
