Launceston’s undefeated streak is over. South Hobart turned around a two goal deficit to finish off the home side 3-2 in what was an incredible turn of events.

United went up early 2-0 for a comfortable cushioning lead at half-time with a double from captain Danielle Gunton.

South had three tricks up their sleeve in response; Niki Moutsatsos and a brace from Pishon Choi. This was a comeback that had to be seen to be believed. Back at D’Arcy St, South president Vicki Morton was anxiously pacing the ground awaiting the final result and the ecstasy expressed was quite the moment.

The win did come at a heavy cost with Moutsatsos suffering a broken leg during the victory, ruling her out for the season. Niki had just started hitting her peak form so this is a real loss for the state.

South, with three points in the bag, will now have a week’s break before an away clash with former cross-town rival Clarence Zebras at Wentworth Park. Launceston United have the bye.

Clarence Zebras 2 (Sophie Fone, Zoe Nichols) Olympia Warriors 1 (Madi Chambers) at Warrior Park.

The Zebras continued their winning ways in a gritty 2-1 win over cross-town rival Olympia away at Warrior Park.

Jenna Farrow returned to the blues as a replacement for Monique Pinkiewicz, who has been ruled out for the season due to injury.

Zebras struck early through Sophie Fone’s magnificent long range hit which you can check out below thanks to the team at Bion Stream.

Zoe Nichols made it two and it appeared academic from there with the shell-shocked Warriors left in the dust.

Madi Chambers was able to bring one back late but the result was soon sealed in what was a huge win for the Zebs.

Olympia will look to bounce back on Saturday  when they play Launceston United in the A-League curtain raiser at UTAS Stadium, while Zebras will next play South Hobart at Wentworth Park.
