With up to four Aussies and Matildas competing in the D1 Féminine, Beyond 90 will be keeping readers up to date with how our players and the teams they’re playing in are faring.

Round 3 saw Emma Checker making her debut for FC Fleury 91 and Ellie Carpenter delivering a high-quality performance.

Matildas’ veteran Laura Brock and EA Guingamp lost, once again, against Dijon FCO. Brock, who played at right-back, was subbed off at the 71th when the side were leading 1-0. Unfortunately, the visitors scored 2 goals including a last-minute penalty-kick, leaving the final score at 1-2. After 3 days, Guingamp is still winless.

Fellow Aussie defender Emma Checker came in for Issy FF at the 65th minute, finally debuting in the D1 Féminine. She helped FC Fleury 91 keeping the lead over FF Issy in a 1-0 away win.

Mary Fowler’s Montpellier HSC remain 2nd in the championship after their 4-1 win at ASJ Soyaux. The attacker went on the pitch in the 72th minute.

To end this game-day, Olympique Lyonnais took the 2-1 win over the Girondins of Bordeaux thanks to a masterpiece from Ellie Carpenter. The youngster had an amazing first-half and scored a decisive goal just before half-time. With only 3 games played, the Aussie has convinced after Lucy Bronze’s departure.

Carpenter has already herself one goal and one assist in 3 games. Atomic.

“This match was a test for us and I think we played pretty well, we are very happy to come away with three points. I am very proud to have scored my first goal for OL. I feel very good in this team, I think this game will give me even more confidence for the future. I work every day to be better than the day before.” – Ellie Carpenter.
